Plans approved for packaging headquarters that will bring 200 jobs to Coventry

Plans have been approved to build the new headquarters for Kite Packaging in Coventry which will be one of the largest buildings in the city.

The new £50 million headquarters for Kite Packaging will be constructed over the next few years and will create 200 jobs for the area.

The employee-owned firm is one of the largest packaging suppliers in the UK and their new site will be unlike anything occupied by a packaging company before.

Kite Packaging, currently based in Tile Hill, is set to start work soon on the build which will be at Ansty Business Park.

The venture has been promised to create over 200 jobs and the firm also runs several training academies, apprenticeships and a graduate programme — all of which will be based out of the new headquarters.

The plans have an environmental focus, with the building proposed to produce and stores all its own electricity as well as harvesting its own rainwater.

Spanning over 300,000 sq ft of logistics and 26,000 sq ft head office building, the build will be one of the biggest construction projects in Coventry next year.

Gavin Ashe, Kite Packaging’s managing partner, said: « As an employee-owned business, our greatest asset is our people, so having an amazing new home where we can continue to grow at the same time as having the space to learn and be creative is just fantastic. »
